The Froth Image Analyser was developed
as a tool for online analysis of
flotation froth at the Boliden Aitik
concentrator outside Gällivare in the
north of Sweden. Also, Outokumpu -
Pyhasalmi Zinc mine utilize a system
from IMSOC in order to develop an online
controller with the Froth Image Analyser
as base. The analyser delivers up to
52 different parameters
characterizing the flotation froth.
An important aspect of the analyser is
the speed with which it calculates and
delivers the parameters, a fast analyser
can more easily be implemented in a
control system. The Froth Image
Analyser, henceforth referred to as FIA,
can deliver analysis from 12 cameras,
in below 6 seconds, this makes IMSOC's
system the fastest there is today.
FIA can handle from 1 up to 12
cameras per system and has built in
communication that utilizes
OPC, DDE,
ActiveX or Analogue I/O through
Advantech ADAM (4000 series) modules.
Furthermore FIA has capabilities to log
data, something that enables, for
example, future process identification.
The image analyser is sold as a complete
system including
hardware. Not only will the system
present data, but with an external
videoplexer it will also present live
images from all available cameras.
