Coastal fly fishing in the northern part of Sweden.

Coastal fly fishing can be very interesting in 'our' part of Sweden.
A couple of times every year we visit the nearby coastline for some fly fishing. Often there's a special feeling fishing in this environment.

Depending on the season, different spieces can be your 'target'.
The best season for fly fishing in the coast line is between May and September.
Seatrout are for the fly fisher easiest to reach in the spring.

Catch and release fishing for sea-graylings occur around April/May and can be found by the river mouths.

The graylings are often found in shallow areas with gravel or rocky bottom.


Roger challenges seatrout with a streamer. Sometimes he fly fish for grayling from his kayak. I guess calm weather is preferred....

Flies used for seatrout are streamers fished with sink tippet. Especially in the evenings when the wind has calmed down it can be a great time for catching seatrout. The coastline environment is often barren.


Popular flies for grayling are nymphs and dryfiles.


Cliffs can be slippery after rain. Be careful!


Traces of a shark attack?  Probably not!


If youre lucky you can spot an eagle in the sky.

You get a lot of wind knots and fresh air on windy days.
